Is this a CV replacement?

More an alternative format than a replacement. The CV optimises for keyword matching by recruiters. human.md optimises for grounded answers by agents. Most people will use both for a while. Eventually one wins.

Who actually reads my human.md?

Three audiences. Humans browsing your firstname.blankcollar.me page. AI agents calling the MCP endpoint on your behalf. The directory ranking you against natural language queries. You control which of the three see what.

What if I want to host it myself?

Go ahead. The parser is MIT, the MCP server is MIT, you can drop both on any host that runs Node. We index public files via your DNS, the directory is just a thin layer over the open standard.

Can I take it with me later?

Yes. The file is plain markdown, the schema is published, your handle redirects can point anywhere. Export is one click and it is the same file you wrote. No platform lock, no proprietary tags, no opaque conversion.

Will agents pretend to be me?

Agents reply on your behalf grounded in the file, with citations to the section that informed the answer. They never write things you did not write. If the question is off-topic the agent says so and surfaces a contact.

Is this really free, or is there a catch later?

Free, MIT licensed, no paid tier above the open standard. The standard is the gate. Anything anyone builds on top of it is a layer above an open base, never a replacement of it. Host the file yourself if you do not want to depend on us at all.
